President's message

It's been a challenging year as president for the 2020-2021 year and for the fundraising activities of the Rotary Club of Wetherill Park due to COVID. However, the dedicated team of community-minded people working together to make a difference in Rotary has remained outstanding. It's remarkably gratifying to do something beyond yourself and may we continue to encourage others to do that and join our club. Continue to talk to your friends and acquaintances about joining. They won't regret it!
Like everyone else, the Rotary Club of Wetherill Park has had to do things differently with the Coronavirus pandemic and lock downs this year. Many events have had to be postponed or cancelled, but we have continued to raise funds for our local community. We have started to turn the corner and we look forward to once again resume our major events, the Golf Day in May and Carols in December.

Braeside makeover

Our club recently completed a project upgrading the viewing room at Braeside Hospital.
Led by our president, Brigette, and with volunteer help from out other members, the work was done in a day.
The money from the project came from funds raised by members and with the help of a grant.
Supporting water tank projects in Thailand

The Rotary Club of Wetherill Park as partnered with the Darlings (Rotary Club of Darling Harbour) to help fund water tanks for Thai schools and orphanages in need of clean drinking water.

The Darlings are working with Bangkok Rotary to identify recipients. Recently they completed a water project for a school in the Chang Mai area. Our club donated $1000.

May meeting

Join us for the next monthly meeting on Tuesday, 11 May at 7.30am at Club Marconi. Bring an interested friend! We'll all be done and dusted by 8.30 in time for you to get back to your business or work.

Interesting tidbit: There are more than 1.1 million Rotary members worldwide.
Happy Tullamore Mothers Day

Rotary has donated and helped pack Mothers Day gifts for the people of Tullamore, who have been doing it tough for a number of years because of the drought in the area.

Tullamore is a small town in Parkes Shire in the Central West of New South Wales.  The town is the first town mentioned in the original 1959 version of the song "I've Been Everywhere".
